| BOOKBINDERS' GUILD OF NEW YORK |
THE BOOKBINDERS' GUILD IS A PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION COMPOSED OF OVER 800 MEMBERS FROM THE BOOK PUBLISHING AND BOOK MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES.
Monthly dinner meetings are held from September through May with speakers and programs intended to enhance our knowledge of book production and manufacturing and to keep us abreast of the latest technologies.
Our two major events of the year are the Barge Bash and the New York Book Show.
Our educational programs feature Basically Books, a series of seminars developed by our knowledgeable members. The seminars are specifically targeted toward new people in our industry to give them a better understanding of the book making process. These seminars are provided to our member companies free of charge. The Guild also arranges and funds trips to book manufacturing plants and paper mills.
The Guild is a major supporter and donor to the Literacy Assistance Center of New York. It is an honor for us to be a part of reducing illiteracy in America. All of the books from each Book Show are donated to the Center and the Guild funds some of the Center's very worthwhile projects. Every year, we sponsor an annual charity softball game. All proceeds raised from this event are donated to the Center.
We urge you to join one of our committees. The work is fulfilling and enjoyable. The committees are: Program, Education, Membership, Book Show, and Newsletter.
If you would like more information about the Guild, or about becoming a member, please contact any of the Executive Board members listed below.
